Where do I even begin about these two? Lauren and Joe’s original wedding date was in March 2020 and had to be postponed because of the pandemic. They were one of the first couples I helped navigate through the pandemic and their postponement, so we definitely rode this roller coaster together and the end result couldn’t have been more representative of them as couple.

Their mid-September wedding really embraced the early fall weather and it’s natural beauty. Their ceremony took place under the majestic oak tree in the vineyards at Black Barn. During the ceremony, there was a moment of silence for racial injustice and for those affected by the pandemic. Then their officiant told a story about love featuring non-binary characters and their commitment to each other. After which Lauren and Joe shared some heartfelt vows and planted a tree together to show their unity and growth. It was truly a special ceremony!

Back at the barn, guests enjoyed a selection of pre-portioned and served appetizers from the Produce Station. Some options included soft pretzel and beer cheese soup shooters, crab cakes and sweet potato cakes. Soft teal runners laid run along the wood farm tables with scattered pillar candles and wood slabs. Each table featured a sunflower and wildflower bouquet created by the bride. The reception tent decor had such an ease and whimsical feel to it. We did have one wedding crasher try to sneak into the wedding; a grey billy goat from a neighboring farm dropped by to say hello before running back to his farm.

Following an amazing served buffet dinner from the Produce Station, Lauren and Joe cut their Boston-creme flavored wedding cake. Then guests enjoyed mini dessert options, such as key lime tartlets, truffles, creme puffs, cannolis and more! Then Jump Start DJ opened up the dance floor on the back deck and the bonfire pit was lit as the sun started to set.

Congratulations Lauren and Joe! This day definitely holds a special place! Cheers to much happiness!
